A few things I forgot to upload...

I know that I haven't been posting, but that doesn't mean I haven't been art-ing. Here's a few pages in my sketch books from the past weeks.

Chelsea Market...I give myself a "C" one this, it's not horrible, but I can do better. But I give myself a pat on the back for painting in public.

My desk. I'm amazed at how messy it gets, but also intrigued at how the mess takes different shapes.

Tiger (Chinese Zodiac- redesign)

This design definitely has more power than the old one. I'm glad I re-designed it. More animal signs to come!

Rabbit (Chinese Zodiac- redesign)

Ok, so I'm starting over on the whole zodiac designs. And I think I like the direction this style is going in, instead of when I did the tiger design.

Friends : Angel Guy (Work in Progress) 2

Last rough, next is ink and color! And then the other two characters.

Sometimes, I wonder why I try...

So I tried to do another bid thingy on crowdSPRING where you design something, along with a ton of other people and the client only pays the person who they like the design. It's totally a big contest and I usually fail, but I was like, why not try again? Well, I fail so bad this time that the client actually eliminated me from the group. Well, fine! Get some other design logo thing for your stupidly named tutoring video website!

Friends : Angel Guy (Work in Progress)

I've always wanted to use this expressions exercise sheet. So I took one of the characters I did last post and experimented with the expressions! I say work in progress, cause I think I want to push the drawings a bit more and then ink and color them. (I also need to do the two I skipped) I also want to get to the other two characters of the "Friends".

Zodiac animal

So, ever since I visited a good friend of mine and read her surprisingly accurate Zodiac book, I can't stop thinking about it. I thought it would be cool subject to design from, so I thought why not, lets make my own Chinese Zodiac.

I started with the Tiger, cause that's my sign (and the awesomenessest!) I just have the tiger on a plain background for now, but once I finish all 12 animals, I'll make a background to connect all of them. And I'm thinking I need more to this design, but it's a start.

ASIFA drawing night begins again!

Nothing like the ASIFA figure drawing sessions to remind me that I'm out of practice.

More Highline watercolors!

Actually just one today. But I'm sure there will be more another day.

Doodles

Ah, Korean dramas are so annoyingly addictive. Oh well, at least I doodled as I watched and here they are!

After Effects Practicing!

Yes, that's right, I'm trying to learn After Effects. I got a great site from a friend with tons of After Effects tutorials. http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/

This one is the Light Glow. I had to press pause on the tutorial a lot and go slow, but I think it came out all spiffy.

Turtles!

So, a lot of cool people made a lot of cool art this month for the Autumn Society. The theme was fan art for the cartoon show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I'm not part of the society, but I was inspired to do a quick little thing of my own. Cue the cuteness!

Photoshop Experiment!

This is what I started with:

This is how it ending up, still a work in progress:

So, I wanted to try messing around with photographs in Photoshop for possible concept art. I did the first stage of getting everything and alternating it, but now I want to digitally paint over it and change it up some more. Cause just Photoshop-ed things, look weird.

Fun times, bad drawings.

So I was with my boyfriend for his birthday. We had a great time! But I found out I need a lot more practice drawing him...and a guitar for that matter.
Or I could just say that I couldn't concentrate on my drawing because of his pure awesomeness.

Um, look a wheelbarrow.

It's a lonely wheelbarrow. Sitting in water. At the High Line. Please be distracted from the fact that I haven't posted anything up in almost a month.

Parks: Mothers with kids, men reading the papers, and a traditional horn ceremony?

Took one of my usual walks to the High Line and sketched what I saw. I didn't expect to see three people in traditional dress, carrying a ceremonial horn, followed by a crowd of people. Later I googled it:

Revisiting old characters

These two characters are from an idea for a TV series I thought up along time ago and have thought about recently. The drawings on the end are ones that I drew a year or two ago and the middle drawings are the ones I did today, trying to flesh out my idea of the characters. But I'm still not quite there yet with the character designs. I expect a lot more drafts.

Eventually I want to write a script for a pilot episode and then, maybe, if I feel like it will go any where, I would like to animate it.

Backyard Relaxing

I was visiting my boyfriend, Juno, again and we were chilling on the back porch, sketching. His niece (age 2) came outside to see us.

Me: Hey do you know what I'm drawing?
Niece: Trees!
Me: Yeah!
Juno: Grass isn't pink.
Me: That's the shadows, and that's how it works in my world.

The model that likes to stick his butt in the air...

These sketches are from two drawing nights ago, before I went travelings.

See, this model kept sticking his butt up in the air like a cat and it made me laugh. He also did other poses that were funny and so I added speech bubbles.

Going back in Time!

Here are some thumbnails for paintings. If you look closely you will see the thumbnail for the painting that I just posted earlier today. Hahahaha.

Oh that's right....I have a blog

Yeah, I knew I would forget at one time or another to post my daily works. And I did. But I was really art-ing a lot since last post, really I was! Look a painting I did!

Artistic schlump: that's what I've been up to

So I disappeared to Enola PA last week to visit family. I had a great time, but I've been feeling not that inspired to create art. But here is what I did anyhow.

Watching America's Next Top Model:

I get so glued to this show some times it scares me. Above is what I drew while watching. I'm not sure that I like it.

Idea Fail:

I thought I had an idea for an awesome short film. Then I wrote it down and didn't like it anymore.

Another card:

I made a card for a baby shower. But I know it's hard too see, I didn't think to take a better picture before I licked the envelope.

Some Practice:

I went to the park when I got back to NYC and did some really quick sketches of the people going to work. I wanted to stay and draw more, but my hands froze from the not-really-yet-spring weather.

Craft schemeing

So, I've been thinking up ideas to make some more felt holiday decorations. Here are my sketchy ideas. Maybe some how I can make these little crafty items into something I can sell or give away. Hopefully soon I will get started on production, progress photos will come.

ps: If you like the designs please don't steal, just make me make you one.
